As a community hub for Social media aspects in Sri Lanka, Socialmedia.lk welcomes submissions from guest contributors. Please read the following guidelines before submission, and email us your article at firstname.lastname@example.org
Acceptable Topics: We accept submissions on topics related to Social Media. We are not able to accept any submissions that are purely self-promotional for a particular. Acceptable topics include, but are not limited to:
- Benefits of Social Media
- Social media and politics
- Contemporary issues relating to Social media
- New features & updates on Social networks
- Future of Social Media
- Psychology and Social Media
*Content should be focused on local sources and the mentality of the local people.
Audience: Our audience ranges from Social media professionals, business executives to students who are interested on Social Media.
Word Count: Articles should ideally be between 300-600 words. Please be concise and consider overall readability. Online readers often leave long pages before they finish reading, so try not to exceed 650 words.
Style: Please write in an easy-to-understand, accessible style. Because most of our audience is Sri Lankan based, we only accept articles written in English. If you reference a statistic or a recent event in your piece, we encourage you to provide a link to the research or an article on the subject, if possible.
Format and editing: All submissions will be edited for correct grammar and formatted per AP Style (Associated Press), before publication. We may also break up long blocks of text to increase readability. Keep titles short and simple, preferably no more than eight words.
Author bio: It should be short and precise. Make sure all the important things about you, are included on the bio.
Images: We welcome image submissions with your article, as long as you have the rights to the image and provide a brief caption and photo credit. Images must respect the dignity, values, history, religion and culture of the subject photographed. They must also accurately reflect the subject being discussed and not be misleading. We also have the capacity to embed a video in your blog post by putting an embed code; therefore you can add the link where the video should appear on the post to support your article.
Submission procedures: Please submit your article on Microsoft word format through email at email@example.com along with your author bio as a separate word document.
Originality: We only welcome well written original content. The author is solely responsible for any legal implications caused regarding the post originality.
Republication: You cannot republish your guest post to your own blog or anywhere else. However, after a written approval from SocialMedia.lk, the Blog post submission can be republished on the author’s own blog, or on any partner blog that the SocialMedia.lk approves. When republishing please include the hyperlinked tag that says, “This piece was originally published on SocialMedia.lk on mm/dd/yy”.
Disclaimer: SocialMedia.lk retains the right to republish blog posts in any of our other publications. SocialMedia.lk also reserves the right to decline to publish a submitted article for any reason, including duplication of recent topics, the need for significant rewrites, pieces that are self-promotional, pieces that are discriminatory or offensive, or if the topic doesn’t fit with our needs. Because of the moderation process, articles will not be published immediately.
